Fatal Standoff in Brandon Neighborhood: Officer Killed and Wounded.

A Madison police officer was killed and a Brandon police officer was injured during a standoff in Brandon, Mississippi, which began as a domestic dispute. The suspect barricaded himself inside a home and fired shots at officers. After talking for more than an hour with the suspect, a SWAT team rescued the hostage. While attempting to enter the home, an officer from the Madison Police Department died, and the suspect also received fatal injuries. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
