Fatal Shooting in Midfield Leaves One Dead and One Detained

One man was killed and another was detained for questioning in an early-morning shooting in Midfield, Alabama. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting during an argument and found a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect, a 57-year-old man, was located and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing, and charges have not yet been determined. This marks the fifth homicide in Midfield this year and the 125th in Jefferson County.
