Fatal Shooting by Farmington Police in Response to Wrong Address

New Mexico State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Farmington after police responded to a domestic violence call at the wrong address. The homeowner, Robert Dotson, was shot and killed by police after allegedly coming to the front door with a handgun. Dotson's wife, who was also armed, fired from the doorway but complied when she realized they were police. The incident occurred when police accidentally showed up at 5305 Valley View Avenue instead of 5308 Valley View Avenue.
