Fatal Exchange: St. Paul Officer Shoots and Kills 24-Year-Old Brandon Keys

Brandon Keys, a 24-year-old man from Maplewood, died after being shot by a St. Paul police officer during an exchange of gunfire. The incident occurred when the officer responded to reports of an order for protection violation. Keys had allegedly been hitting a woman's vehicle with his own and was armed with a gun. Both Keys and the officer were struck during the shootout, but the woman and another passenger were unharmed. The officer, identified as Michael Tschida, was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released from the hospital. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident.
