Ex-LAPD officer charged with child sex crimes dies in custody while awaiting trial.

A former LAPD police officer, Paul Razo, who was arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a minor, has died while in custody. Razo had been charged with eight counts of committing lewd acts with a minor and allegedly sexually assaulted at least four boys, two of whom were his relatives. The cause of death will be determined by autopsy by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. An investigation is ongoing.
