Ex-FBI Agent's Guilty Plea in Russian Oligarch Case

Former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, the former head of counterintelligence for the FBI's New York field office, is expected to plead guilty in a Russian oligarch-related case. He was charged with violating U.S. sanctions by attempting to remove Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska from the sanctions list and investigating a rival Russian oligarch in exchange for concealed payments from Deripaska. McGonigal is also facing charges in a separate case in Washington, D.C., for allegedly concealing $225,000 he received from a former Albanian intelligence employee.
