Detroit Bus Driver Linked to Multiple Fatal Crashes Charged in Pedestrian's Death

A Detroit bus driver, Geraldine Johnson, has been charged with a moving violation causing death after fatally striking a pedestrian, Janice Bauer, who was crossing a downtown street during a green light on June 2. This is the second death linked to Johnson's driving, as the city settled a lawsuit for $4.5 million following the 2015 death of a man who was hit while trying to get a bike off a rack on the front of the coach. Johnson was fired after Bauer's death, and the Detroit transit is conducting a review of her record and related policies and procedures.
