Convicted Killer of Kristin Smart Attacked and Hospitalized in Serious Condition

Paul Flores, the man convicted of killing Kristin Smart, a college student who disappeared over 25 years ago, has been hospitalized in serious condition after being attacked in prison. Flores was transferred to Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga last week and was taken to an outside hospital on Wednesday. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation did not confirm the attack but stated that the circumstances surrounding his injury are under investigation. Flores was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for Smart's murder, although her remains have never been found.
