Congressman's Staff Attacked with Baseball Bat in Virginia District Office

A person armed with a baseball bat entered the district office of Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly and attacked two members of his staff. The suspect is in police custody and the staff members were transferred to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It's unclear what transpired during the attack or any possible motive. Members of Congress have expressed concern about security at their offices or homes, especially since the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
