California Day Care Owners Charged After Tragic Toddler Drownings

Two women who owned and operated a residential day care in California have been charged with felony child endangerment resulting in death and criminal negligence after two toddlers drowned in a pool. The mother and daughter allegedly left the children unsupervised in the backyard play area, which was adjacent to a pool with a propped open gate. One child was found floating in the pool, and two others were discovered unconscious. The day care's license has been suspended, and the suspects will be arraigned in December.
