"Brave Texas Girl Rescued in California: How She Used a Sign to Call for Help"

A 13-year-old girl who was kidnapped from a bus stop in San Antonio, Texas, was rescued in Long Beach, California, after she held up a sign saying "help me" inside the car. Bystanders noticed the sign and immediately called 911. The suspect, 61-year-old Steven Robert Sablan, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and lewd acts with a child. The girl had allegedly been sexually assaulted during the three days she was held captive. Sablan may face life in prison if convicted. The victim, a reported runaway, was placed in the custody of the San Antonio Department of Children and Family Services.
