Arrest Made in Stabbing of New Jersey Imam During Prayer Service

An imam was stabbed during early morning prayers at a mosque in Paterson, New Jersey, by a man who was subdued by worshipers. The attacker, Serif Zorba, was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder and weapons-related charges. The imam sustained nonfatal stab wounds and was transported to a hospital. The motive behind the attack is unknown, and the attacker was not an active member of the mosque. The city will increase police presence at mosques in response to the attack.
