Arrest made after lengthy standoff in McKeesport shooting case

A man in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, has been taken into custody after a seven-hour standoff with police. Michael Paul Plopi, 42, has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and a firearms violation. The standoff began after Plopi allegedly shot a woman multiple times during an argument. He barricaded himself and his adult daughter inside his house before eventually surrendering peacefully. The victim is in critical condition but expected to survive. Plopi has a criminal history and is prohibited from owning firearms.
