48-hour crime spree ends in fatal shootout with police in Kane County.

A police chase that began in South Elgin ended in a crash and shootout in Geneva, resulting in the death of a K9 officer and a carjacking suspect. The suspect had allegedly stolen a Honda Accord in Aurora and had fled authorities previously. The K9 officer, named Hudson, was shot and killed by the suspect, who was then shot and killed by police. The Kane County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
