"Deputy Arrested in Connection with Fatal Carjacking Investigation"

Orange County Deputy Francisco Estrella was arrested on charges including interception of communication and unlawful use of a communication device after allegedly calling a Seminole County detective to obtain information about an armed carjacking, kidnapping, and killing using a fake name and claiming to be a cousin of the victim. Sheriff Dennis Lemma emphasized the danger posed by such actions and stated that Estrella has been relieved of duty without pay. The Orange County Sheriff's Office will conduct an administrative investigation once criminal proceedings are complete.
