"Revealed: Video Footage of Deputy Shooting and Suspect's Alleged Involvement"

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage of a traffic stop that ended in a shooting, resulting in the death of Deputy Greg McCowan and injury of Deputy Shelby Eggers. The video shows the deputies pulling over suspect Kenneth DeHart, who refused a search of his vehicle and ultimately fired shots at the deputies, leading to the tragic outcome. The suspect, DeHart, was later captured and charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and felon in possession of a weapon. Three others have been charged with aiding DeHart, and a memorial fund has been set up for Deputy McCowan’s family.
