"Off-Duty Greensboro Sergeant Fatally Shot Confronting Suspects at Gas Station"

An off-duty Greensboro police sergeant was fatally shot while attempting to stop a crime at a local Sheetz gas station. Despite efforts by another off-duty officer and a paramedic to save him, the sergeant, a 22-year veteran of the force, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A Blue Alert was issued and later canceled for the suspects, described as two black men in their early 20s, last seen driving a Black Chevrolet Equinox.
