"Georgia Death Row Inmate's Final Meal Request and Execution Resumption"

Georgia inmate Willie James Pye, set to be executed for kidnapping, rape, robbery, and murder, has requested two chicken sandwiches, two cheeseburgers, french fries, two bags of plain potato chips, and two lemon-lime sodas for his last meal. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles will hold a clemency meeting for Pye, who was convicted of the 1992 murder of his ex-girlfriend. If granted clemency, his sentence would be reduced from death to life with or without parole. This will be Georgia's first execution since January 2020.
