Fort Wayne's annual Labor Day Picnic, held at Headwaters Park, is expected to attract thousands of people to celebrate working people and enjoy free hot dogs, chili, chips, and beer. The event, which started as a picnic for organized labor, has now become a community-wide celebration. The picnic committee, consisting of various labor groups, has been meeting since January to plan for the event.
