Malibu's Franklin Fire Triggers Evacuations and Shelter Orders at Pepperdine

A rapidly spreading wildfire near downtown Malibu, California, has prompted mandatory evacuations and threatens structures, including the Malibu Pier. Pepperdine University has canceled classes and instructed students to shelter in place. The fire, known as the Franklin Fire, has grown to over 1,600 acres, fueled by dry conditions and strong winds.
