"Scooter the Chinese Crested Wins World's Ugliest Dog Contest"

Scooter, a 7-year-old Chinese Crested dog with deformed hind legs, won first place at the World's Ugliest Dog contest. Scooter was facing euthanasia when a volunteer with Saving Animals from Euthanasia (SAFE) rescue group brought him home from animal control in Tucson, Arizona. The contest celebrates "the imperfections that make all dogs special and unique" while advocating for adoption. Scooter's owner, Linda Elmquist, said he has become an inspiration to countless people around the world.
