"Oregon Humane Society's Rescue Mission: Bringing Maui Shelter Pets to Forever Homes Amidst Wildfires and Capacity Pressure"

The Oregon Humane Society has partnered with other organizations and companies to assist pets displaced by the Maui wildfires. Southwest Airlines delivered emergency food and resources, while Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and a licensed veterinarian ensured the safety of over 100 animals during their flight. The Maui Humane Society will now have more space to house injured and displaced pets. The state Humane Society's new Behavior and Rescue Center will provide care for the pets, who will be evaluated and receive medical attention before being available for adoption.
