Investigation uncovers alleged animal cruelty at Natural Bridge Zoo

95 animals have been seized from the Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia following a search warrant served by the state police on behalf of the Attorney General's Office. The warrant describes alleged animal cruelty, including animals with health ailments, filthy habitats, and lack of appropriate care or food/water. The zoo's 12-year-old Siberian tiger named Zeus was euthanized, and the warrant lists numerous dead animals and body parts. A confidential informant reported substandard conditions for an elephant named Asha, including being shackled, sleeping in urine, and carrying excessive weight from visitors riding on her back. Investigations are ongoing.
