Iowa Attorney General Joins Multi-State Battle Against Massachusetts Pork Law

The Iowa attorney general is joining forces with 13 other Attorneys General to challenge a Massachusetts law that restricts pork sales. The law requires pigs to be raised with enough space for pork products to be sold in Massachusetts stores, similar to California's Proposition 12. If pork does not meet this requirement, it cannot be sold or shipped through the state. The ban could result in the closure of many family farms, and the Iowa attorney general argues that the Massachusetts law is unconstitutional. Iowa previously fought against California's Proposition 12, which was ultimately upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
