Massive Pier Collapse at Memorial Union Terrace Sends Dozens Plunging into Lake Mendota

A pier collapse at the Memorial Union Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin, resulted in several students falling into Lake Mendota. Approximately 60-80 people were on the pier at the time, with one person being transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Most others suffered scrapes and bruises. It is believed that everyone has been accounted for, and those who lost property in the incident are advised to contact the University of Wisconsin Police Department.
