Fatal Fire in Sylmar Home Caused by Ammunition

Two people and a dog died in a house fire in Sylmar, California, which was intensified by the presence of ammunition on the property. Firefighters heard ammunition exploding due to the heat, and there were unconfirmed reports that the house was booby-trapped. The fire was difficult to extinguish due to the property having three separate homes. The LAPD Bomb Squad was unable to assess the area due to the compromised structural integrity of the home.
