Shark mauls American tourist's leg in Turks and Caicos.

An American tourist from Connecticut had her leg bitten off by a shark while snorkeling near Blue Haven Resort on Providenciales Island in Turks and Caicos. The victim was rushed to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre and remained in serious condition. It is unclear what type of shark attacked the tourist, but Turks and Caicos is home to grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, and lemon sharks. There have been only three recorded shark attacks on humans in Turks and Caicos, not counting this incident.
