Shark Attack in Turks and Caicos Leaves American Tourist Injured.

A 22-year-old Connecticut woman lost her leg after being attacked by a shark while snorkeling with a friend near the Blue Haven Resort around Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. She was taken to the hospital and remains in serious condition. It's unknown what type of shark attacked her, but gray reef sharks, nurse sharks, and lemon sharks are common in the area. This is the fourth recorded shark attack in Turks and Caicos, and the first to result in the loss of a limb.
