Plane crash lands in Catawba River, no injuries reported

A single-engine private plane crashed into the Catawba River, east of Rock Hill, and was left upside down with the wings partially submerged in the water. The pilot and passenger were found and reported to be okay. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. Fire officials removed the plane from the river by inflating boats under the wings and guiding it downstream before taking the wings off for easier transport. No one was injured in the incident.
