Fatal Crashes Claim Multiple Lives of Pedestrians in NE Portland

Two separate incidents in Portland resulted in the deaths of two pedestrians, bringing the total number of pedestrian fatalities in 2023 to nine. One pedestrian was hit by a car while crossing against the light, while the other was struck by a driver who turned into her while she was crossing in a crosswalk. Portland has recorded 19 fatal car crashes so far this year, with nine of them involving pedestrians.
