Fatal Crane Collapse on Fort Lauderdale Bridge Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured

A worker died and three others were injured after part of a crane fell on the SE 3rd Avenue bridge in Fort Lauderdale. The incident occurred during a construction process called stepping the crane, causing a platform holding equipment to fail and fall onto the bridge. The New River is closed to marine traffic, and the bridge is shut down until its structural integrity can be assessed. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the incident.
