Surge in Canine Respiratory Illness at Burlington Emergency Vet

Veterinarians in Vermont have seen an uptick in dogs with an unidentified respiratory illness that has similar symptoms to kennel cough. The illness has affected around 30 dogs since the beginning of the year, with some cases requiring hospitalization and even resulting in death. The cause of the illness is unknown, but it is believed to be contracted at pet daycares, dog parks, and boarding facilities. Pet owners are encouraged to take precautions and keep their dogs up to date on vaccinations.
