"Experts Warn of Looming Pandemic Deadlier Than Covid, Urging Immediate Preparedness"

Global health experts warn that the next major pandemic is not just a possibility but a probability, and it could be far worse than Covid-19, potentially killing millions more people. Despite this, little has been done to prepare for it. To combat this future threat, vaccines will need to be engineered and delivered in record time, but there is no guarantee that will happen. The world needs to invest in developing a collection of prototype vaccines for known threatening virus families, establish state-of-the-art systems for international surveillance, and improve global coordination and cooperation. A single global body, such as the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), should be responsible for the response to Disease X, and a Global Pandemic Treaty should be established to facilitate information sharing and accountability.
