50 Dogs at Pennsylvania Shelter Fall Ill in Possible Canine Flu Outbreak

Speranza Animal Rescue in Cumberland County is dealing with 50 sick dogs that are showing flu-like symptoms such as coughing, lethargy, and reduced appetite. The shelter has put out a plea for help, and the community has donated more than $60,000, which will be used to care for the dogs. The dogs are on medication, and it's hoped they will recover. It's believed a dog just taken in by the shelter spread the illness, which has affected all the dogs. Anyone with concerns about their pet's health, or whose pet is showing signs of canine influenza, should contact their veterinarian.
