United Airlines Removes Florida Family from Flight Bound for Europe

A retired couple and their parents were kicked off a United Airlines flight from Tampa to Chicago, which was part of their planned trip to Europe. The airline claimed that the travel agency they used was restricted from selling United tickets, and their reservation was ticketed under Lufthansa. The gate agent allowed them to board before realizing the issue with their reservation, resulting in their removal from the plane. The family missed their tour of Amsterdam and lost non-refundable plane tickets to Portugal. United Airlines offered an apology and vouchers for future travel, but the family deemed it insufficient and stated they would never fly United again. The US Department of Transportation will review the complaint.
