Firefly Heads to Animation: Nathan Fillion-Backed Reboot in the Works

Nathan Fillion announced that an animated Firefly series is in early development at 20th Television Animation, produced by Collision33 and overseen by Tara Butters and Marc Guggenheim, with ShadowMachine handling animation. A script has already been written and early concept art created, with the series set in the timeline between the original 2002 run and Serenity. Joss Whedon has given his blessing, and the show is expected to be shopped to buyers soon, with original cast members including Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher and Summer Glau involved in discussions at Awesome Con.
