"Good Luck Charlie" Star Bridgit Mendler Transitions from Disney Channel to Launch Satellite Data Startup

Former Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler, known for her roles in "Good Luck Charlie" and "Wizards of Waverly Place," is now the CEO of Northwood Space, a startup aiming to mass produce ground stations that connect to satellites in space, creating a "data highway between Earth and space." The company, which has received $6 million in initial funding, is set to connect to a spacecraft in orbit later this year. Mendler, who studied at MIT and Harvard Law, was inspired to start the company while spending time with family in New Hampshire during the pandemic, and is building it with two former engineers from Lockheed Martin.
