Insights into Alabama Sororities: What We Learned from the 'Bama Rush' Documentary

The new documentary "Bama Rush" explores sorority recruitment at the University of Alabama, revealing the hierarchies within campus sororities, racial disparities on campus, and the secretive organization behind it all, The Machine. The film also sheds light on the high cost of joining a sorority and the constant pressure women face regarding body image. Additionally, the documentary gives a voice to women of color who have endured racist moments on campus and discusses their desire to rush with UA Panhellenic sororities instead of any of the historically Black organizations in the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
