National Geographic cinematographer Bertie Gregory captured never-before-seen footage of baby penguins bravely leaping off a 50-foot cliff for their first swim in the Antarctic waters. The remarkable behavior, known as fledging, had never been filmed before and will be featured in Nat Geo's 2025 documentary "Secrets of the Penguins." Despite the daunting height and icy waters, the penguin chicks fearlessly took the plunge, marking a significant moment in their young lives.
