Unreleased John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy recording surfaces.

A newly discovered recording of John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy's 1961 performance at the Village Gate in New York City will be released as an album titled "Evenings at the Village Gate: John Coltrane with Eric Dolphy" on July 14. The recording captures the two saxophonists' musical rapport and experimentation during a pivotal time in Coltrane's career. The album features a preview track, "Impressions," and will be released with liner essays by jazz experts and saxophonists Branford Marsalis and Lakecia Benjamin.
