Austin Considers Water Rule Changes for Special Events

The City of Austin is considering new rules that would require special events to provide at least one pint of water per hour per attendee, as well as one toilet per 50 persons and handwashing stations. These rules would apply to Tier 2, 3, and 4 events with less than 2,500 people. Event organizers and attendees are supportive of the hydration requirements, although some express concerns about the cost. The city must decide on the proposed rule by September 14.
