Strikers from SAG-AFTRA and WGA are protesting the lack of progress on a safe zone for picketers outside the NBCUniversal lot. The WGA claims that the studio has not completed a pedestrian path along Lankershim Boulevard as instructed by the LAPD's Labor Relations unit. The studio had cut off access to Lankershim sidewalks for an improvement project, forcing picketers to gather on corners or outside Gate 8. Union members delivered a petition with over 26,000 signatures demanding a resolution. NBCUniversal stated that they have been developing two potential plans, including hard barriers in the street and temporary walking paths, to increase safe access for demonstrators.
