Bungie has significantly simplified the currency system in Destiny 2, reducing the total number of currencies to just five: Glimmer, Legendary Shards, Enhancement Cores, Enhancement Prisms, and Ascendant Shards/Alloy. This streamlining has eliminated the overwhelming and largely pointless clutter of numerous currencies, making gameplay purchases and transactions more straightforward. While there are still a few rare or temporary currencies, the overall achievement of reducing the currencies to five is commendable.
