Guy Ritchie's Perspective on Guns Shifts After "Rust" Shooting

Guy Ritchie has revealed that he has not used real weapons on set since the tragic events on the set of Rust in October 2021. Speaking about his latest movie, The Covenant, Ritchie said that the team used Airsoft weaponry, which allowed for creative freedom and was safe. The movie, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, is based on the relationship between a U.S. Army sergeant and his interpreter in Afghanistan. Ritchie also discussed the importance of creating a positive and creative environment on set. The Covenant is out in movie theaters in the United States from Friday, April 21, 2023.
