Roman Polanski's Controversial Photo Op with Rape Victim Samantha Geimer

Roman Polanski, the disgraced film director who drugged and raped Samantha Geimer when she was just 13, posed for a smiling photo with her more than 45 years after the assault. Geimer, who insisted that Polanski had "paid his debt to society," shared the image to her private Instagram account just after the publication of her interview with France's Le Point magazine. Polanski's wife, Emmanuelle Seigner, who interviewed Geimer for the French magazine, made the pic public on her own page. Polanski pleaded guilty to statutory rape for unlawful sex with a minor but fled the US before sentencing to avoid prison.
