Apology Letter from Windsor Castle Intruder to King Charles

Jaswant Singh Chail, the intruder who broke into the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day 2021 with a loaded crossbow in an attempt to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II, has expressed embarrassment and shame for his actions. Chail's lawyer stated that he had written an apology letter to King Charles III and the royal family, expressing his sadness and distress over the impact of his plot. Chail, who pleaded guilty to a charge under the Treason Act, had previously posted a Snapchat video stating his intentions and motives. The court had heard evidence about his mental health, with his psychiatrist identifying features of psychosis.
