"Airline Introduces Passenger Weigh-Ins for Flight Balance"

Finnish airline Finnair has announced a voluntary and anonymous program to weigh passengers along with their carry-on luggage before takeoff in order to optimize aircraft balance calculations. The data collected will not be linked to personal information and will be used for safe flight operations. The airline has seen 600 volunteers participate since the program's launch, and the collected data will be used to update average weights for aircraft balance and loading calculations between 2025–2030.
