NJ Transit passengers stranded on disabled train in Maplewood face ongoing frustrations

Overhead wire issues near the train station in Maplewood caused a New Jersey Transit train to become disabled, leaving 36 passengers stranded. The passengers were eventually taken off the train and transported to their destination via NJ Transit bus. Morris and Essex Line rail service was temporarily suspended, but has since resumed with delays and cancellations. NJ Transit rail tickets are being cross-honored by NJ Transit bus and private carriers. This is the second time this week that overhead wire issues in Maplewood have affected NJ Transit service.
