YMTC Files Lawsuit Against Micron for Patent Infringement

Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) has filed a lawsuit against Micron Technology, alleging infringement of eight of its patents. YMTC claims that Micron used its patented technology to gain and protect market share without paying its fair share. Micron, a major U.S. chipmaker, has not responded to the lawsuit. The dispute comes amid increasing restrictions on exporting chipmaking technology to China on security grounds.
