TikTok confirms that its app source code is written by Chinese engineers, which has raised concerns among top House Republican Mark Green over the Chinese Communist Party potentially gaining "back door" access to Americans' data. TikTok's Vice President of Public Policy Michael Beckerman responded to Green's concerns, stating that the company has a "global engineering workforce" and that all software and source code is inspected by Oracle and a separate third-party under Project Texas. However, Green remains concerned and may use a subpoena to compel testimony from TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.
